Kids Konserve was founded by two American moms who wanted to start a business that in some way would help the environment and empower children to be the examples of change for the future? Focusing on how school lunch programs operate opened their eyes and propelled them to create Kids Konserve. Calculating the amount of waste being produced each day at their own schools during the lunch hour alone, shocked them enough to begin more research into reusable products that dramatically cut down on Earth’s ever growing landfills.

My Friendly Lunchbox has put together a waste free Kids Konserve lunch kit that offers a simple solution to packed lunches and snacks. The kit, which is made up of an insulated lunch sack, 2 round stainless steel food containers and a food kozy is sold for £29.50.
Insulated Lunch Sack
The insulated lunch sack is available in two colours; the brownie green - Moss and the orange and white Kids Konserve footprint pattern – Beach. The design is based on the disposable brown paper sack that many Americans take their packed lunch in. This bag, however, is not made of paper but recycled PET bottles, eight of them to be precise, and free from BPA and lead.
Stainless Steel food containers
The kit also includes two round stainless steel food containers with leak proof plastic lids. They are made of 304 food-grade stainless steel, which is the cleanest non-leaching and safest material to put food in. Kids Konserve endeavours to use a high percentage of recycled stainless steel to make their food containers. The plastic lids are made from safe LDPE recyclable plastic #4.
The Food Kozy
The Food Kozy is the reusable alternative to plastic sandwich bags, cling film and aluminium foil. It allows you to easily wrap sandwiches, fruit, cake, cheese and vegetables – you name it, then rinse it off and use again the next day. It is also, unlike cling film, easy for little hands to open and close.
The great advantage with the Kids Konserve products is that they can be used for other purposes than just your packed lunch. The food containers are great for storing leftovers and other foods at home and the food kozy is ideal for wrapping cheese and deli meat. I have even used the insulated lunch sack as a handbag when out with the children; it is the perfect size for water bottle, a snack, wallet and mobile phone.
